Neighborhood Pharmacy Logo, Branding, and Marketing Designs
Southend Pharmacy is a full-service pharmacy based in Houston, Texas. They consider themselves spearheads of friendly and efficient service. Their services include online ordering, free delivery, personal injury matters, and many more.
The Challenge
After conferring with Southend Pharmacy, we decided that their existing brand warrants a modification for better branding, exposure, and customer retention.
To achieve such an end, we need to institute unique colors, hues, and designs for effective visual branding as well as attractive marketing materials. We also need to design a clean, friendly, and professional-looking logo to elevate their brand and provide them with an established persona in the pharmaceutical industry.
Brand Definition
After consultation and in-depth research, we presented several unique design proposals and color templates. The clients chose these design attributes:
Masculine
Luxury
Modern
Loud
Simple

Initial Logo Design Proposals
We used a traditional pharmacy cross symbol with the top of the cross made into a stylized arrowhead, representing the southern state of Texas. As a whole, the icon represents a caring pharmacist with open arms.
The second design works around the traditional mortar-and-pestle symbol of the pharmaceutical industry. The mortar is designed as a stylized arrowhead that points south, also representing the place of origin of the client. We also added a leaf, signifying the caring nature of the company.
The third design revolves around a stylized pharmacy cross. The letter “S” and “P,” which stands for Southend Pharmacy, are cleverly incorporated as elements in the logo. A blue and green pill, another popular vector that represents the pharmaceutical industry, is added to complete the icon.
The Result
The client selected Design Proposal 2 with a slight addition—two shades of blue on the mortar-and-pestle icon.
We incorporated the logo and the color template into their branding and marketing materials as seen below.
Colors and Fonts
First, we chose cool and deep blue #0D57A4 and balanced with green #BBD232. These colors reflect professionalism and modernity. We also chose Gotham for the font to give a clean and modern look and feel. It’s also easy to read even on small scales too.
Working on the Brand Identity
Our creative team came up with these designs to reflect these attributes and the final logo design.
