How Pugo Helped Palm Harbor Pharmacy Build a Brand Patients Trust
Independent Pharmacy logo, branding, and marketing material designs
Palm Harbor Pharmacy is not a chain. There is no national advertising budget, no corporate style guide handed down from a head office. It is a brick-and-mortar independent pharmacy in Palm Harbor, Florida, run by a team of dedicated pharmacists who believe patients deserve more than a number in a queue.
When they came to Pugo, they had the service: the prescription transfers, the price matching, the personal touch that chains cannot offer. What they needed was a brand that made all of that visible.
The Challenge
The Brand Definition
Through a clear understanding of the company’s values and based on our communication with the client, in-depth study, and research, we arrived at a clear brand story and voice for Palm Harbor Pharmacy.
These keywords define the company’s personality, attitude, how they want customers to be treated and point out the company’s mission and what they want to offer to its customers.
Our team thrived to capture a new look that reflects these words:

The Logo
Our design of the Palm Harbor Pharmacy logo is simple, using a bold (name of the font) font. The simplicity of the logo captures the company’s personality and customer-treatment goal—no complications and no hassles.
The logo encapsulates what customers want from a service provider— simple, friendly, professional, and excellent service.

Mortal and Pestle
In pharmaceuticals, the mortar-and-pestle symbol historically represents medicine and healing. This is the reason why chose these graphics so it’s easy to see from a glance.
Sea
Inside the mortar are the waves to represent the harbor in Palm Harbor. This represents the company’s commitment to serving its customers despite changing times.
Palm Tree
The pestle as the palm tree to represent the palms in Palm Harbor. The tree fronds represent the company’s desire of adding value-added services.

The Brand Colors
We built around a core palette of blue, green, and grey. Blue for trust and professionalism. Green for health, care, and renewal. Grey to ground both and keep the palette from reading as too corporate or too clinical. These colors reflect the personality and mood of Palm Harbor.
A secondary palette of deep sea blue, black, and white was added for contrast, giving the system enough range to work across signage, digital, and print without losing coherence.
The Result
Palm Harbor Pharmacy came to Pugo needing a brand. What they got was a creative partnership that has lasted years. Their identity now works everywhere: the signage patients see when they walk in, the materials they take home, the communications that bring in new customers.
